Professor Aliaa Youssif is the Dean of the College of Computing and Information Technology at Smart Village, AASTMT. She earned her B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Telecommunications and Electronics Engineering from Helwan University, Egypt, and completed her Ph.D. in Computer Science at the same institution in 2000. Professor Youssif has a distinguished academic career, which includes a postdoctoral position at the School of Engineering and Applied Science at George Washington University, USA, in 2005. She has also held visiting professorships at several prestigious institutions, including Cardiff University (UK), International Telematic University UNINETTUNO (Italy), Oviedo University (Spain), and Cardiff Metropolitan University. Throughout her career, she has actively participated in numerous funded projects in collaboration with both the European Union and the USA. Her research interests focus on Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence, and she has authored over 120 papers in various fields. In addition to her academic contributions, Professor Youssif is a member of the 1st Intergovernmental Negotiation of the Recommendation on Ethics of AI with UNESCO, as well as a member of the Arab Task Force for Artificial Intelligence under the League of Arab States. She also serves on the Professors Promotion Committee for AASTMT and acts as a reviewer for the National Computers and Information Promotion Committee, as well as several international scientific journals.
